Announcing all the Chefs and their Pancake Creations in the Community Hall

Simply Cook and Enjoy Pancakes Delight Six Nations Appetite

03/03/14 To the delight of all in attendance, community members enjoyed creatively designed pancakes prepared by area Chefs. The event brought out those adventurous enough to wet their prospective pallets.

March is Nutrition Month. Many community members sampled pancakes with community dietitians from Six Nations Health Services, Long Term Care/Home and Community Care, Health Promotions and Nutrition Services and Diabetes Education Program.

Each Chef showcased their pancake recipe that was available to community members who attended and were adventurous enough to take the recipe home. Some people wanted the recipe to attempt re-creating delicious pancakes.

Chef Joe Farrell created a White Corn Pancake with smoked deer jam, maple squash syrup and dried cherry tomato. Zucchini Fritters with sour cream, walnuts, and deer jerky were prepared by Joanna Dydula, registered dietician. Wild blueberry cornmeal pancakes were provided by Chef Joleen General. Chef Rich Francis stirred up Iroquois corn and quinoa pancakes with whipped maple cream, sage blueberries and toasted hemp seeds quinoa pancakes. The slogan for this night lived up to its billing: Simply Cook and Enjoy!

Chef Rich Francis will be appearing on Top Chef Canada on the Food Network where he will join other Chefs on March 10, 2014.
