Effective October 1, 2016
Public Works will be charging a $20 fee for each Construction Debris Approval issued, for the disposal of roofing, shingles and other construction debris material(s) at the Six Nations Landfill Site. Public Works - Increase In Water Rates
The Water Rates will be increasing from $1.45 to $1.65 per cubic meter effective April 1, 2017.
Public Works - Bridge Replacement Completed
On the morning of Friday, May 6, 2016 Bridge No. 5 officially opened three months ahead of schedule, due to the warmer than usual winter season, and thanks to all of the hard work of those involved. The Elected Council would also like to thank the community of Six Nations for their patience and understanding throughout the replacement and construction of Bridge No. 5. Funding for this project provided by Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada, and the Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
Public Works - Notice Road
Closure for Culvert Change
Next week Six Nations Public Works will be changing crossroad culverts on Chiefswood Road between Townline and First Line. On Wednesday (August 16) the road between 28 and 120 Chiefswood Road will be closed.
On Thursday (August 17) the road between 168 and 187 Chiefswood Road will be closed. Road closures will be from 7am-6pm on both days.
Emergency services have been notified. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Public Works - Truck Fill
Station Now Pre-Paid Service
Effective January 2, 2017 the Six Nations Truckfill Station will begin operating on a pre-paid system. Pre-payments can only be made at the Public Works Office (1953 Fourth Line) Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30am-4:30pm.
Customers are asked to contact the Public Works Office before this date to ensure there is an existing balance on the account. If you have already paid the required $50 key deposit, it will automatically be applied to your account.
